About
Nestled on the shores of Lake Kamo, kaneto stands on the very spot where the chef's grandfather once ran a small oyster hut.
The restaurant's name, 'kaneto,' is a nod to that original business, reflecting our deep connection to the region's history and our commitment to preserving its legacy.
By utilizing the area's natural resources, we aim to showcase the beauty of Sado and contribute to a sustainable future, all while providing heartfelt hospitality every day.
Savor the Seasons of Sado with Our OMAKASE Menu
We carefully select the freshest seasonal ingredients, sourced from the rich, natural bounty of Sado. Our dishes, featuring an abundance of fermented foods, fresh vegetables, and seafood, are designed to nourish both body and soul.
To complete your meal, enjoy our signature clay pot rice, made with seasonal ingredients and premium Sado-grown Koshihikari rice.
Delight in Our Pairings
Our sommelier has expertly curated pairings to complement each dish. For those who prefer to avoid alcohol or embrace a sober-curious lifestyle, we also offer non-alcoholic pairing.
Indulge in a moment of luxury as you savor the harmonious blend of flavors between our cuisine and carefully selected drinks.
Experience the Beauty of Sado in Every Detail
Our restaurant is designed with locally sourced materials like charred cedar and bamboo from Sado, merging tradition with modern elegance.Inside, you'll find elements inspired by oyster rafts, an outdoor deck, and beautiful Mumyoi-yaki pottery from Kitazawa Kiln, among other exquisite details.
As you enjoy your meal, immerse yourself in the rich traditions and natural beauty of Sado, reflected in every part of our space.
